Agricultural practices
Agriculture is growing of crops and raising of animals for food, other human needs, and also for economic gain.
Agricultural practices are a collection of methods applied for on-farm production and post-production processes, Good agricultural practices are one of the best ways to increase productivity.
The main steps for agricultural practices cover all aspects of farm production like preparation of soil, sowing, adding manure and fertilizers, irrigation, harvesting, and storage.
Organic farming and Green revolution
Organic farming: Raising crops using only organic and biodegradable materials. Mixed cropping, crop rotation and biological control are used to maintain soil fertility and check pests
Green revolution: Increase in production of wheat to make our country self sufficient is called green revolution. It has provided employment to many people in agriculture and related industries
Domestic and Milch Animals
Did you know that man domesticated wolf about 15,000 years ago? Eventually, this species of domesticated wolves then went to become dogs.
Man was once a nomad, moving from place to place foraging for food and water. He would settle temporarily in safe places during seasons like winter and rainy seasons to avoid the elements. Then he began to settle down in places with good weather, water and availability of food all through the year. During this time, animals such as the wolf, wild cattle and sheep were domesticated for milk, food and farming.
