STD IX – MENSURATION – ARCHIMEDES
About Course
AREA AND PERIMETER OF PLANE FIGURES
TRIANGLES
When Sides are given we use HERON’S FORMULA
- Perimeter = a + b + c
- semiperimeter = Perimeter/2
- Area = √s(s – a)(s – b) (s – c)
When height is given (or triangle is right angled)
- A = 1/2 x base x height
- Altitude of Isosceles triangle = √a2 – (b2/4)
- Altitude of an equilateral triangle = √3/2 a
