Introduction to Static Electricity

A charge is that property of a matter which results in electricity. The charges can be stationary or in motion. When you rub comb with hair, it acquires electrons and thus becomes negatively charged and attracts paper pieces. This happens due to static electricity. The charges that are generated by rubbing are static.
